SENATE NEWS: Jonathan Names Ahmed In NPC Board, Nominates Salau As INEC REC

* Seeks Senate Confirmation

LEGISREPORTS NG – President Goodluck Jonathan has nominated Professor Akinola Murtala Salau, from Oyo State, as a Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Salau is a former Vice-Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

In a letter addressed to Senate President David Mark and read on the floor of the Senate yesterday, Jonathan asked the Senate to confirm the nomination.

In another letter which was also read at plenary, Jonathan asked the Senate to confirm the nomination of Alhaji Mohammed Ahmad, from Sokoto State, as a board member of the National Population Commission (NPC).
