REPS NEWS: Lawmaker condemn abduction of Foreign workers in Buguma
LEGISREPORTS NG – The member representing Akuku-toru/Asari-toru Federal Constituency Dr. Dawari George said the Buguma Fish Farm project which is expected to employ about 5000 Kalabari sons and daughters has been badly affected by the abduction.
”the Fish Farm is expected to employ about 5000 Kalabari persons, and that particular expectation has been seriously compromised by this criminal act, i want to appeal to Inspector General and all those responsible to release them immediately unconditionally to their families and employers, i also want to use this opportunity to call on all our people to condemn this act of criminality designed to sabotage the economic development of our area” he said.
Dr. Dawari George also called on the people to work closely with Security Agencies and give necessary information so as to prevent a reoccurrence and arrest those responsible for the abduction.
“i also want to use this opportunity to call on all our people to be vigilant and to work very closely with Security Agencies inorder to prevent the reoccurrence of this unfortunate incidence which is capable of threatening the development and security of the Kalabari Kingdom” he said.
It would be recalled that 4 Expatriates and 2 Nigerians were yesterday kidnapped in a State owned Fish Farm in Buguma, Asari-toru local government area of Rivers State.
