POLITICS: I will make Rivers State Ungovernable – Minister of State for Education
LEGISREPORTS NG – The Minister of State for Education Nyesom Wike has vowed to make Rivers State ungovernable for those who want to destroy politics in Obio/akpor LGA.
The Minister of State for Education said this during the grand finale unit inauguration of the Grassroots Development Initiative GDI in Obio/akpor.
Nyesom Wike said he is bent on defending democracy in the State ”our brothers and sisters keep faith for God is on the throne, they said we are no body, now they have seen, when you are dealing with nobody be careful because the nobody will tell you that he is somebody, its that not so? So will make sure they will not sleep again, as I am speaking they will not sleep with their two eyes now closed because their one eye will be open because they know there is danger”.
Mr. Wike who also gave condition for truce in the lingering political crisis in the State urged his political opponents to apologize to him.
He described himself as master of politics” when we were there, they were not having problems, now that we have gone, they are having problems, we have always told them you can’t do it, what you don’t know, you don’t know, it does not matter whatever money you have, money cannot buy everything, and now they are having sleepless nights, when we were here, were they have sleepless nights, they were travelling overnight, are they travelling again, no way, they should come and beg us, they do not know the secret, what God has not given to you, there is no way you can do anything about it”.
He however urged the people to remain law abiding and expressed confidence in getting justice for the injured Lawmaker Michael Chinda ” by the special grace of God all those who are involved, will never go free, if they like let them carry the money, let them carry the resources of Rivers State Government, I will assure you that all those who are involved in an attempt to kill our son, they will never go free, I will only plead with all of you to remain calm, don’t take laws into your hands, justice must prevail”
In their separate speeches, the former Deputy Speaker of the House Representatives Austin Opara and Senator Adawari Pepple said Rivers State will now witness a new down with the establishment of the GDI.
Meanwhile, The PDP in the State says it has initiated moves to settle the political rift between Governor Amaechi and Minister of State for Education Nyesom Wike.
The Chairman of the PDP in the State Felix Obuah dropped the hint while expressing the need to settle the two Ikwerre Political Gladiators at the gathering of the Grassroots Development Initiative GDI in Obio/akpor.
Sir Felix Obuah said he will invite Governor Chibuike Amaechi and Nyesom Wike this week for a peace talk ”I want to say that from now henceforth all the media war by the Governor of Rivers State and our son the Minister and everybody should stop forthwith, I want to invite the Governor, the Minister and all aggrieved members of the Ikwerre community”.
