ODDITY: The National Assembly Budget and Research Office (NABRO) Gets New BOSS
The National Assembly Budget and Research Office (NABRO), now has a new Administrative Head. He is Mr. Enoch Bezhe Jarumi, who succeeded Mr. H. O. Olutoye, the pioneer Administrative Head who held the office for a year.
In the Handing and Taking over ceremony which held today, at the Conference Room of NABRO, Mr. Jarumi stated that his administration will be anchored on a 5-point Agenda policy of: facilitating the passage and signing into law of NABRO bill; improving the contribution of NABRO in all Budget and Finance related bills in the apex legislature; re-invigorating the research content of NABRO; enhancing staff capacity building; and enforcing strict Civil service Rules in all relevant matters.
Mr. Jarumi stressed that he will build on the laudable achievements of Mr. Olutoye while expressing his profound appreciation to the National Assembly Management for finding him worthy to serve and promised to live above board. He thanked his predecessor for the enabling environment he has created and wished him well in his future endeavours.
In his handing over remarks, Mr. H. O. Olutoye expressed gratitude to God for seeing him through. He congratulated his successor on his new appointment and urged him to embrace team work and collaboration with relevant bodies in order to succeed.
Earlier in his remarks, the Director of Personnel Management (DPM), Dr. Ishaya Habu challenged the civil service bureaucracy to embrace dedication to duty which is cardinal to success.
Dr. Habu also charged the bureaucracy to strive towards building virile institutions to ensure continuity. He advised those in leadership positions to make delegation of powers a watchword in order to properly groom the subordinates for future challenges.
In a goodwill message, the Director of Legislative Budget and Planning (DLBP), Mr. Colawale John Usman congratulated Mr. Olutoye for a job weldone and Mr. Jarumi over his new appointment. He enjoined Mr. Jarumi to make team work and wider consultation a watchword to guarantee his success at NABRO and pledged total support of his Department.
Until his present appointment, Mr. Jarumi was the Deputy Director, Department of Legislative Budget and Planning.
The event was witnessed by staff of NABRO and cross section of National Assembly staff, with goodwill messages from Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), National Assembly chapter, among others.
