LEGISREPORTS NG – The Enugu state House of Assembly has directed the Commissioner of Police in the state to arrest the Accountant General of the state for failing to appear before Assembly for a third time.
This was sequel to motion moved by, Mr Sunday Ude-Okoye during plenary on Wednesday, in which he prayed the House to issue a warrant for the arrest of the AG for consistently refusing to appear before the assembly.
Mr. Ude-okoye said,
” because of his continuous failure and neglect of this honorable House, I therefore evoke the powers bestowed on us to order the commissioner of Police to issue a warrant of arrest on the accountant-general”.
The vote was unanimously passed, and the Assembly moved that the Accountant-General be made to appear before it on April 21.
The Accountant-General, Mr. Pascal Okolie is been summoned to explain the reasons surrounding the non-payment of the Assembly’s subvention.
