RIVERS POLITICS; Rivers State Government insists Amaechi still a member of PDP
LEGISREPORTS NG – The Rivers State Commissioner for information and communication, Ibim Seminitari has debunked speculations that the State Governor Chibuike Amaechi intends to leave the PDP.
Mrs. Seminitari made the clarification in a press conference in Port Harcourt.
She said Governor Amaechi is ready to subscribe to rule and party obligations and has not moved to another party.
Meanwhile, The Spokesman of the ACN in Rivers State has been criticized for alleging that the Rivers State Governor Chibuike Amaechi is making plans to join the ACN.
The Publicity Secretary of the sacked G. U. Ake led executive in the State George Ukwuoma dismissed the claim saying Jerry Needam is a joker.
George Ukwuoma in a statement made available to newsmen said Governor Amaechi remains a PDP member and has no intention of leaving the party.
The statement also maintained that Governor Amaechi is still the Leader of the Party in the State while explaining that the Governor is taking legal steps to set aside his illegal suspension from the PDP.
He also advised Jerry Needam to concentrate on the problems in his party rather than feeding the public with lies.
It would be recalled that the ACN Publicity Secretary Jerry Needam had in a statementÂ said the ACN in Rivers State has raised a two man committee to meet with the National Leadership of the Party to express its disappointment over the mandate given to it to work with Governor Amaechi.
