POLITICS: Ribadu denies dumping APC
LEGISREPORTS NG – Former anti corruption cop, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has denied public speculations that he is set to quit the All Progressives Congress (APC) possibly for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The speculations which went viral in online channels yesterday said Ribadu who was presidential candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the 2011 election, was fed up with injustice and inequity in the APC and could no longer cope with the alleged situation.
But the former boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reacted to the speculations on twitter late Wednesday saying: “There’s no truth in the rumour being peddled that I’m considering dumping my party, the APC. It’s malicious falsehood.”
The opposition APC has been enmeshed in an internal crisis in recent times with a good number of its chieftains defecting to the ruling PDP.
One of them, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, a virulent critic if the PDP -led Jonathan administration is widely reported to be on his way out of the fold following a private visit to the Presidential villa on Monday in Abuja.
