ONDO ASSEMBLY: Lawmakers dismiss rumour of Speaker’s death
LEGISREPORTS NG – Members of the Ondo State House of Assembly have dismissed the rumour making the round that the Speaker of the Assembly, Samuel Adesina had passed on.
Speaking in separate interviews with reporters, the Chief Whip of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Olatunji Dairo and the Chairman House Committee on Works, Hon Akindele Adeniyi admitted that the Speaker was ill, but however claimed that he is fast recovering.
Adeniyi who is representing Akure North State Constituency, described the rumoured death as complete lie.
He said, “I can confirm to you authoritatively, that Mr. Speaker is alive, although he is in the hospital but he is recuperating. People are just raising false alarm unnecessarily.
“I don’t know why people want him dead; I don’t know why people are spreading such falsehood about the person of the speaker.
Dairo, who is representing Owo State Constituency II on his part , expressed optimism that the speaker will resume his official duties any time soon.
He said, “I am very optimistic that Mr. Speaker will return back to Ondo State safely. He is responding to treatment. He will soon be back to preside over the legislative business on the floor of the House”, Dairo
