ODDITY: Update on Aviation Union strike
LEGISREPORTS NG – Members of the Aviation Union of Port Harcourt International Airport has resumed full operation after a one-day strike.
The NAMA Spokesman Chigbo Atabatele who said the National Union of Air Transport Employees and the Air Transport Senior Staff Association of Nigeria has called off the strike stated that the Union embarked on the strike over a dispute with NAMA on issues bordering on staff welfare.
Mr. Otabatele said the decision of the Unions to call of the strike followed the meeting they held in Abuja with top Government representatives led by the Minister of Labour and Productivity Emeka Wogu.
Meanwhile normal services has since resumed as Air Travelers are seen boarding flights to their various destinations.
It would be recalled that the strike by Aviation Unions which lasted for some hours led to the delay of some flights from Port Harcourt to Lagos, Abuja and other destinations.
