LEGISREPORTS NG – The General Manager of the Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), Mr. Iheanyi Abakwume, has accused the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Mr. Musa Muhammad Katsina, of withdrawing the police officers providing security for the agency during the demolition of structures considered to be distorting the master plan of the city of Owerri.
In a statement in Owerri, the OCDA GM also accused the CP of not adhering to the statutory provisions of the police in offering protection in the cause of restoring the master plan of the city, threatening to take the matter to higher authorities in Abuja.
According to him, the OCDA’s determined effort to restore the city is also a way of addressing the insecurity problem in the land.
Meanwhile, the state command of the police through the Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Joy Elemoke, has reacted explaining that the OCDA was not entitled to police orderlies, adding that there was clear case of abuses of police orderlies attached to the agency in the past, converting the officers as cronnies of house wives.
