EXCLUSIVE: Mimiko to Declare for PDP, Dumps Labour Party

LEGISREPORTS NG – Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko has concluded plans to cross-carpet to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) thereby dumping the Labour Party on which platform he was elected into office.  Reliable information reaching LEGISREPORTS at this time is that the governor has concluded on a deal with President Goodluck Jonathan to fully support the latter’s 2015 re-election bid.  In this regard, he will declare “in a matter of days” according to a reliable source in the camp of the governor. Same feelers were also received from the presidential villa Abuja when the information was cross-checked with our sources there. The Ondo governor had recently collapsed his political structure, the ‘Iroko Frontiers’ into a Jonathan re-election group called ‘Believe Nigeria, Trust Goodluck’ as part of the moves to work towards the re-election of the president. But apparently not satisfied with that the presidency is said to have asked the governor to ‘formally move into the PDP to consolidate both Jonathan’s re-election bid and also up the ante of the PDP onslaught against the APC in the South-west geo-political zone,” according to one of our sources. Already, the political body language in Ondo State is now said to be picking a cue from that of the governor as his supporters across the state have started making preparations towards the formal declaration for the PDP/ This report was prepared by our political reporter
